Erich Fromm Insitute

The Erich Fromm Institute Tübingen (EFIT) is a one of kind Fromm research center. It houses Erich Fromm’s reference library as well as his literary estate (with original typescripts, handwritten drafts and other documents).

Here you find a comprehensive collection of the literature about Erich Fromm, a media center with audios and videos by, with and about Erich Fromm and publications and documents of the International Erich Fromm Society. Also, the papers from 1930’s and 1940’s which Fromm deposited at the New York Public Library are available in the Tuebingen Erich Fromm Institute as replications.

The Erich Fromm Institute Tübingen is open for public.

Opening Hours

The opening hours are on

Thursday and Friday from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m.,

on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At 3 p.m. on Saturday there takes place a (free of charge) guided tour through the institute in German language.
